Frieze Masters London 2026
The Regent’s Park, London
A cura di Paolo Cortese
Anna Esposito
We were very excited to participate, for the first time, at Frieze Masters Spotlight, London, this October with “I Told You So”, a focused presentation of works by Anna Esposito, curated by Paolo Cortese.
Anna Esposito is an Italian artist based in Rome, whose work brings together ecofeminism, environmental awareness, animal rights and a critique of consumerism. Through photocollage, décollage and applications, she reuses discarded posters, advertising images and waste materials to expose the deception behind glossy surfaces and mass consumption. Her works are connected by practices of inversion and reuse, revealing hidden social and ecological violence while affirming the interdependence of humans, animals and nature. Most of these themes were conceptualized in the 1970s, but some were developed in the early1980s. By valuing what is overlooked or discarded, Esposito transforms waste into a poetic and political language that challenges patriarchal and capitalist systems.
The presentation will feature around ten works, primarily collages, décollages, photo-interventions and mixed-media pieces. Each is created by layering, tearing and recombining photos, paper, printed images and found objects, resulting in rich, textured surfaces that invite close inspection. Displayed on the wall, the works will be cohesively arranged in such way that they will create a visual journey; a journey, that invites reflection through critique and irony, opening a glimpse of hope for the future.
